ASTM A252 is the standard specification for welded and seamless steel pipe piles. It is written for structural applications where the pipe carries load rather than fluid, which makes it the default specification on foundation, marine, and deep-foundation work across North America.

Saginaw supplies ASTM A252 Grade 3 pipe. 

Grade 3 is the strongest of the three, with a minimum yield strength of 45,000 psi and a minimum tensile strength of 66,000 psi. It is the standard choice for heavy structural piles, marine projects, and high-load deep foundations.

ASTM A252 does not prescribe a tight chemical composition the way pressure-rated pipe specifications do. The standard sets a ceiling on phosphorus at 0.05% maximum and allows producers latitude on carbon, manganese, and silicon so the finished pipe meets the mechanical property requirements for its grade. That flexibility is one reason A252 is so cost-effective and widely available for structural use.
